LiR QV Members select from any or all the program categories that interest them:

  • Nature/Science

  • History (Regional/US/World)

  • Travel

  • Local Interest/Local History

  • Health/Fitness/Spirituality

  • And a variety of unique, topical presentations and presenters

Most programs are held at the Killingly Community Center, an adult-friendly environment with good technology and comfortable seating.  

Membership Details

  • Register for any semester's program and you automatically become a member. Whether you choose to attend one program or every program, the cost is the same: $25 per semester.

  • People who register for the Fall programs will receive the information on the Winter programs and will be able to attend at no additional charge.

  • Members will also be invited to the semester Social, followed by light refreshments.

How to obtain Membership:

  • Attend our free Open Houses in August or Late Winter. Watch for our ad in the Turnpike Buyer and Shoppers’ Guide. Hear all about the semester’s presenters. Sign up right there.

  • Anyone interested in joining Learning in Retirement QV should send us an email at learninginretirementqv@yahoo.com.

  • Hint, Hint: A gift membership is a welcome treat….a thoughtful and useful retirement birthday or gift for any occasion.

Join one of our committees:

  • Help make LiR even better! You can choose from:

    * Refreshment Committee—help with setup and cleanup at Socials and Open Houses

    * Finance Committee—help to oversee the income and expenses of the organization

    * Program Committee—help to solicit speakers or bring fresh ideas to improve our offerings

    * Membership & Promotions—provide information at various events to invite new members

    * Board of Directors—attend monthly meetings and see how the organization works

LiR QV provides the means to meet the wide range of interests for adults who want to explore new topics. The programs are chosen to stimulate the mind and provide a relaxed social environment where our members meet others who want to learn just a little more than they already know.

LiR QV is an independent, self-governing, non-profit membership organization, formed in 1994 with 120 original Charter members. Today, with membership of about 300, 14 towns are represented from 3 states. 30 years and still growing!
