LiR QV Happenings

At the Open House, three people were recognized for their service to Learning in Retirement QV:

Krissy Larrow was the liaison between QVCC and LiR for many years. She took care of registrations, mailings, the calendar,  general problem solving and so much more. We are grateful to Krissy for all she has done for LiR!

Jason Tata was our IT contact at the college. Whenever there was a problem with the computer, the microphone, the lighting, etc, Jason came to our rescue and always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help the "technology-challenged" and we truly appreciate his help!

Unfortunately, Monique Wolanin (our third recipient) was unable to attend the Open House. She has been a staunch supporter and friend of Learning in Retirement for many years. For example, Monique kick-started our now $100,000+ scholarship endowment, with over $2,500 raised by running a marathon. She has presented health and exercise programs for us and enabled us to get the United States Coast Guard band for our twenty-fifth anniversary celebration! Thank you for everything, Monique!

Each recipient received an LiR paperweight and a gift card, because their service to LiR has been invaluable.

Guest speaker at the Open House was Jennifer Busa, Public Program Coordinator at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. Her presentation on the life of Katharine Hepburn, focusing on her history here in Connecticut, was well presented and appreciated by her rapt audience.
